The aim of the project is to implement and support scenarios for data exchange between SAP systems, SAP and legacy (non–SAP) systems via ALE/EDI interface and SAP XI.
Project Execution
The project started in September 2005. The project team consists of the customer's EAI (Enterprise Application Integration) team and four IBA experts. IBA responsibilities include:
- Error monitoring and analysis in SAP, SAP XI, and EDI subsystem
- ABAP development of new customer transactions and enhancements for standard SAP functionality
- Customization of ALE/EDI interface in SAP
- Mapping development from IDOC to an EDI message (UN/EDIFACT, X.12, VDA, ODETTE, EDIWHEEL, XML or customer specific standards) and vice versa
- Workflow development
- Customization and implementation of different SAP XI scenarios, namely adapters (JMS, JDBC, FTP, HTTP, IDOC or RFC), mappings (graphical, JAVA or XSLT), and complex scenarios (using BPM).
Environment:
Development environment: SAP 4.6C, 6.20 SAP XI, ACTIS integration manager v3.3
Programming languages: Java, ABAP 4, XSLT, XML
Tools and technologies: SAP ABAP Workbench, SAP XI, Business Object Modeler, EDIform.
Project Results
Started in September 2005, the Electronic Document Interchange is currently underway and is scheduled as a long–term project. The IBA team's involvement allows the customer to organize automatic B2B scenarios while reducing the total cost of software ownership and minimizing HR costs.
