Project Overview

The Factory Services System z concept makes it possible to migrate any individual z/OS (or OS/390) environment, including IMS, CICS, DB2, and ISV to a new platform. Flexibility to respect the client's system design and a very high integration level are two of the major capabilities. Thanks to the automation of many processes and the use of global resources, the services are available at relatively low cost. Any level of desired standardization is possible.

Project Execution

The IBA activities relating to the project include:

• Installation and maintenance of the customer's products
• Creation of documentation for a new platform based on the customer's product documentation
• Functional testing of the customer delivery platform
• Development of SWF Services System z Tools
• Gathering of all client individual data and creating of Customer Environment Analysis Guide
• Writing test cases for the customer's products.

Project Results

IBA Group has been working on the project since its launch in 1996 in Germany. In the past years, the scope of IBA involvement has expanded. Currently, IBA Group is installing remotely all products of the customer. In addition, the client is planning to entrust to IBA the installation of ISV products.
