Project Overview

The project is designed to develop and optimize a series of websites for our customer. The websites present information about tires for diverse vehicles, technologies used in tire production, and company–specific information.

Project Execution

The project started in January 2007 and is currently in the maintenance phase. The IBA responsibilities included:

  • Scope documentation
  • All elements of the technical build
  • A set of testing scripts to guide the Client Acceptance Testing.

IBA developed and optimized four websites for our client. The websites were developed using CMS SDL Tridion R5.3, enabling the customer to integrate information from different sources, manage the content, and provide it in different formats and languages.

IBA optimized the existing tire search feature for three websites. The user is offered a service on tire search with a possibility to select tire parameters and vehicle make.

In addition, IBA developed the Dealer Locator feature based on the Google's service Google map. A visitor receives formation about a dealer and a route to the dealer's premises. It is also possible to print the information and send an email to the dealer or visit its website.

For one of the websites, a service was implemented to poll end users.

On the central corporate website, IBA developed features enabling a visitor to recommend a web page to other internet users and contact website administration.

Currently, a rebranding of two websites is carried out. Website design and functionality are updated and a migration to a new Tridion version is implemented. Also, a sub–site of motorcycles is being developed.

All the websites are tested to operate in different browsers and platforms (Windows and Mac OS).

Project Results

Launched in January 2007, the project has been successfully finished at the end of 2008 and is currently in a maintenance mode. The IBA team's involvement allows the customer to implement new functionality for the websites while reducing the total cost of software ownership and minimizing HR costs.
