Started in April 2006, the project is intended to develop efficient indexing and pre–processing of documents for an insurance company.

Project Execution

The goal of the project is to develop a new document indexing and management system to provide:

  • Integrated view and support of business processes
  • Flexible multi–area document allocation
  • Standardization of business processes and activities
  • Unique rules of document registration and distribution independent of entry channel
  • Automation of certain business process steps.

IBA renders the following services:

  • Micro design
  • Programming
  • Testing
  • Error fixing
  • Problem and error analysis. 

IBA operated as a subcontractor. The IBA team started the project with design and development. After switching to the production mode in September 2008, IBA has been providing continuous support for the system. Communications and documentation are performed in the German language. 

Project Results

The newly developed system demonstrates high performance and stable functioning to the highest satisfaction of end users. The insurance company has received a modern platform for dynamic work distribution and intelligent management and representation of incoming and outgoing documents. Accepting the delivered results, the customer emphasized a very smooth deployment of such huge and important system into production without any hindrances to the company's daily work. Juergen Loeffler, Senior Project Manager of IBM Global Business Services, said: “Together with IBA we implemented a new SOA-based solution for the dynamic workload allocation and intelligent document management for a major insurance company in Germany. While business analysis and architectural work was done by IBM resources, most of the development was executed in timely manner by our IBA colleagues. The IBA team was highly motivated and delivered excellent results. I was especially impressed by the flexibility and customer orientation of the team. As a result we together delivered a successful deployment of our software product and were able to expand the relationship to our client: Thanks to the dedication and effort of the IBA-Team the client awarded us a five years application maintenance contract.
