IBA Group Upgrades Joint Laboratory in BSUIR
IBA Group sponsors the upgrade of the IBA–BSUIR IT laboratory of research and production. Recently, IBA Group has supplied the newest IBM xSeries server equipped with two Intel Xeon processors, 32GB RAM, and 2TB RAID array. This server is a platform for creation of a Data Center at the Faculty of Computer Systems and Networks of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR).
In the IBA–BSUIR IT laboratory, two projects are being implemented:
- Virtual Computing Lab, VCL. The project is aimed at providing the students with an opportunity to connect to the data center remotely and to work with ready virtual machines and a set of installed software. The interaction with the system is carried out through the network, while computing operations are performed on the servers of the faculty. A student needs only a thin client on his/her computer. An Internet browser can act as a thin client.
- Training in the technologies that are required to work with Big Data.
