IBA Group Supports BSUIR Open Championship in Collegiate Programming
On April 12, the finals of the eighth BSUIR Open Championship in Collegiate Programming for high school student teams took place in Minsk, Belarus. IBA Group participated in the event as its general partner.
The championship gathered more than 80 teams from Belarus, as well as teams from Azerbaijan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. The school team Mogilev cheetahs from the city of Mogilev won the first place, followed by the teams #pragma GCC target from Vitebsk and Gomel-1 from Gomel.
This year, the organizers decided to split the event and carry out two different competitions for students of universities and of high schools. The competition is held in compliance with the rules of the ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest (ACM ICPC). The participants were offered to solve 11 tasks in English within five hours.
The finals of the championship among students and undergraduates were held on March 15, 2018. The event gathered 373 teams from 12 countries, including Armenia, Belarus, Brazil, Canada, Lithuania, Romania, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan. Forty-two teams reached the competition's finals. The winners of the BSUIR Open Championship in Collegiate Programming for university students are:
- The 1st place: AllSubmissionsMatter, Vilnius University, Lithuania
- The 2nd place: Shock Content, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT), Russia
- The 3rd place: ITMO 2, St. Petersburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, Russia.
IBA has been sponsoring this championship since 2010. Winners and participants of 2018 BSUIR Open received prizes from IBA Group.
In addition, IBA Group received a letter of thanks for the support of the BSUIR Open Championship in Collegiate Programming, signed by Vadim Bogush, First Deputy Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, and Mikhail Batura, BSUIR rector.
