From February 18 to February 20, IBA Group attended EuroCIS 2025, the largest retail technology event in Europe, to showcase tapXphone, its SoftPOS solution, and network with key figures in the sector.

EuroCIS 2025 welcomed more than 14,000 visitors from 95 nations. It opened a vibrant forum for various topics, such as POS systems, mobile payments, artificial intelligence, IoT, and SoftPOS solutions. More than 500 companies displayed their newest innovations.

At the event, IBA Group demonstrated tapXphone to show how smartphones and tablets can double as secure payment terminals. The company engaged with experts and tech partners to discuss the growing adoption of SoftPOS and its role in modern payment acceptance.

According to Vadzim Smatrayeu, VP Fintech Services at IBA Group, collaboration was a hot topic at this year’s event. Businesses, technology providers, and equipment manufacturers are working together to create more efficient and scalable solutions for the retail sector.

AI and emerging payment technologies were also key talking points. Industry experts try to explore how these innovations will shape retail environments, from small neighborhood shops to large hypermarkets.

Networking played a key role at EuroCIS, and IBA Group was actively involved in discussions with partners and potential clients. Many conversations revolved around the future of SoftPOS, with strong interest in tapXphone as a scalable and adaptable solution for modern retail payments.

Overall, SoftPOS is now an essential part of the European retail landscape. Awareness of its benefits is growing and major retailers are starting to explore its potential. Unlike traditional payment systems, SoftPOS offers the flexibility to support various use cases, from checkout counters to delivery services.

For instance, in 2024 alone, tapXphone transaction volume and value doubled, which reflects the increasing adoption of SoftPOS solutions. As more businesses embrace this technology, its role in the retail industry will only continue to expand.
