IBA Group Public Transport Validators are Qualified with Mastercard TQM Certificate

Fare collection validators for public transport, being the greenfield project of IBA Group, obtained a certificate from the Mastercard International Payment System. The devices were verified for compliance with Terminal Quality Management (TQM) requirements. This certificate supports high quality of the entire development and production cycle of devices.

IBA Group validators are installed in few Eastern European countries. More than 400 vehicles will be equipped in Ust-Kamenogorsk (Kazakhstan); contactless payment using validators will be deployed in the city by the end of 2020.

Compliance of validators with high quality standards is an integral requirement of international payment systems. The purpose of the Terminal Quality Management program is to maintain the quality of payment terminals in a consistent manner.

This is the first TQM certificate for IBA Group. In a pandemic, certification was made remotely, but even this factor was not an obstacle to the successful audit. Experts from the UK conducted a detailed analysis of production, quality control and management processes, and prepared their recommendations for improving production processes.

The preparation took two years: during this period, IBA Group specialists adjusted the processes according to new requirements and prepared the relevant documentation. For the audit, they presented in-house production facilities, as well as the validators produced there.

“Despite the pandemic, a complex audit in accordance with Mastercard TQM requirements was successful. Our validators have demonstrated the safety and compliance with international quality standards”, — said Vadim Smotrayev, Head of the IBA Group Technical Department.
