IBA Group Launches TapXphone in Serbia and Bulgaria

IBA Group’s TapXphone payment solution that turns a smartphone into a payment terminal was successfully launched at Raiffeisen Bank in Serbia and Bulgaria. Now bank clients in these countries will be able to use their smartphones to accept contactless payments.

The tapXphone payment solution formed the basis of the mobile application RaiPOS that helps entrepreneurs accept contactless payments anywhere and anytime. To do this, entrepreneurs only need an NFC-enabled smartphone on Android with the mobile application installed on it and internet access.

The application has a number of functions convenient for an entrepreneur or a small-scale business, including the close of business, wrap-up the day, and money return when canceling an operation. All functions are intuitive and easy. Through a special web portal, sellers can track all transactions in real time, as well as manage their terminals. Thus, through tapXphone, entrepreneurs can easily and effectively control, plan, and optimize their finances.

We are pleased to launch our payment solution in Bulgaria and Serbia. TapXphone takes contactless payments to a new level. Now sellers do not need to buy and maintain a bank terminal. A smartphone with an installed app will cope with this feature. Buyers, in turn, can quickly and easily pay for goods and services in one touch.

This innovative solution meets the needs of small and medium-sized businesses in terms of simplicity, mobility, and flexibility in sales, and in fast and convenient payments for consumers. With tapXphone, cashless payments become possible at places where cash-only was previously available, like itinerant trade, fairs, concerts, and other recreational facilities.

As customers are using mobile payment services more and more often, we expect the traditional POS terminal to be gradually replaced by a mobile application. With RaiPOS, sellers will be able to accept payments in just three steps. The seller sets the amount, the buyer swipes his or her card, and the seller confirms the payment! This is fast and easy for both sides.

The first launching of tapXphone was in 2020 in bank from the Raiffeisen Group. In 2021, the service appeared in the Slovak Tatra banka. In the near future, the launch of tapXphone is planned in other European banks of the Raiffeisen Group.

Raiffeisen Bank International AG (RBI) is a leading banking group in Central and Eastern Europe. Subsidiaries of the group operate in 13 countries of the region. RBI includes financial, banking, leasing, insurance, and other organizations that offer customers a full range of services in the field of individual and corporate asset management.
