IBA Group Initiates Digital Transformation at Azerbaijan Railways
IBA Group conducted a technical audit of Azerbaijan Railways’ business processes and prepared recommendations for their automation. The aim of the project was to digitize key railway processes of the client.
IBA Group experts who specialize in business analysis and architecture for the railway industry scrutinized the freight management processes at key Azerbaijani railway facilities. Over two weeks, the specialists surveyed the dispatch center, locomotive depot, three different types of railway stations, and an information and computing center. Additionally, they examined the architecture and current operating conditions of the production information systems.
In six weeks following the survey, IBA Group prepared a report describing the business processes “as is“, including their graphical representation in BPMN 2.0 notation. Based on the findings from the survey, the railway workers received over 30 recommendations to improve their operations as part of the digital transformation.
IBA Group presented the project results to Rovshan Rustamov, Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways. During the meeting, IBA Group specialists shared recommendations on digital transformation and discussed future cooperation plans with Azerbaijan Railways.
