IBA Group Shares Digital Transformation Insights at Kazakhstan Metallurgy Summit
During the second international metallurgical summit entitled Metals and Alloys. Kazakhstan, IBA Group shared views on digitization trends in metallurgy for 2024 and told about IT solutions that drive improvements in business processes.
Held in Almaty on November 15, the summit brought together key players in the metallurgical and mining sectors from Kazakhstan and neighboring countries. At the event, metallurgy leaders shared experiences and discussed contemporary industry trends. In addition, summit speakers highlighted successful practices that boost production efficiency and showcased innovative solutions that have already been successfully used in the industry.
Olga Karpenko, Manager of SAP projects at IBA Group, presented success stories of digitization projects executed by IBA Group. One the case studies involved implementation of SAP S/4HANA for a mining and processing enterprise. What sets this project apart is that the system went live two months ahead of schedule. The move significantly enhanced productivity and streamlined business processes at this large-scale Kazakhstan’s enterprise.
IBA Group also played a pivotal role in helping KazFerroStal LLP enhance production processes, improve control transparency, and establish a unified information system accessible to users at all levels. Serving 75 users, the system automates 50 operational business processes and 164 business functions. Company personnel can now analyze the production process in real-time and conduct cost analysis across cost types, activities, and production facets.
Olga also highlighted other SAP solutions that contribute to enterprise digitization. Kazakhstan metallurgists can optimize logistics processes using SAP Extended Warehouse Management and SAP Transportation Management solutions, ensure safety in production using SAP Environment Health & Safety, and manage employee knowledge and skills using SAP SuccessFactors.
The focus on SAP solutions is not accidental, as 95% of iron, steel, and aluminum producers from the Forbes Global 2000 list leverage SAP solutions. These solutions have consistently proven effective across various countries worldwide.
