IBA Kazakhstan Celebrates 10 Years
IBA Group established IBA KZ, a development center in Nur-Sultan (former Astana), the capital of Kazakhstan, ten years ago.
IBA Group began working in Kazakhstan and other countries of Central Asia on major long-term projects in 1996. On July 1, 2010, IBA Group registered a representative office in the Republic of Kazakhstan. A year later, the office transformed into an economic entity authorized to provide software development and maintenance services.
IBA KZ Ltd. was legally registered on June 6, 2011 and the same year the company launched its first software maintenance and deployment projects.
The IBA Group’s clients in Kazakhstan include the National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), the Committee for State Revenues of the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan, and the Atyrau oil refinery.
Recently, IBA Group automated ticketing and dispatching in public transport of Oskemen, the administrative center of the East Kazakhstan Region of Kazakhstan. As a result, passengers can pay for trips by contactless transport cards and transport authorities can monitor the movement of buses, trams, and minibuses online. The project entailed the setup of a data center for the entire system, including installation of software, mounting of servers and other equipment, and training of local specialists.
In addition, IBA Group implemented IBA AVM, its automated fleet management system. Using IBA AVM, Oskemen transport authorities control the movement of public transport in the city. As a part of the project, IBA Group developed the Oskembus Mobile App.
On June 21, IBA KZ registered a new legal entity to join Astana Hub, the international technology park of IT startups based in Kazakhstan. The primary areas of operation of IBA Astana Hub include implementation and customization of SAP solutions, implementation of automated workflow systems using the IBA’s Chancellor solution, automation of fare payment and collection in public transport, automation of fleet management in public transport, and introduction of the IBA’s visual analysis solution at insurance companies of Kazakhstan.
IBA Group views Kazakhstan as a promising destination because its branches and entities, including government bodies, public organizations, and private enterprises are in need of IT solutions and IBA is ideally positioned to meet the demand.
